A Prestigious Funding Track with High Growth Potential

The EIC Accelerator program, part of the Horizon Europe initiative, is a prestigious funding track designed for startups and SMEs developing breakthrough deep-tech technologies with significant growth potential.

Funding Options

Grant: Up to €2.5 million to fund development activities (TRL 6–8) for up to 24 months. The grant covers up to 70% of costs
Equity Investment: Between €1 million and €10 million (and in some cases up to €30 million under the STEP program) for market entry and scale-up
Blended Finance: A combination of grant and equity investment—the most common model in the program

Eligibility Criteria and Target Audience

Eligible Companies: SMEs registered in Israel or in EU/associated countries. Individual entrepreneurs planning to establish a company are also eligible to apply
Technological Maturity: A minimum of TRL 6 (prototype demonstrated in a relevant environment) is required before submitting the full application
Nature of the Venture: Deep-tech innovation, high-risk profile that deters early-stage private investors, and strong market disruption potential

Shortened Application Process: The full application has been reduced from 50 to 20 pages
Timelines: Transition to bi-monthly submissions (January, March, May, July, September, and November) to avoid bottlenecks
Scoring Method: Shift from a Go/No-Go model to a numerical scoring system with a defined threshold
Due Diligence: Integration of technical experts already at the full application stage to accelerate investment decisions

Application Stages

Short Proposal: Submission of a 12-page application and a short video (Pitch Deck). Can be submitted at any time
Full Proposal: Invitation to submit a detailed business plan according to specific cut-off dates
Interview: Presentation of the venture before an EIC jury panel
