Seed Fund – Round A Track

The purpose of the Round A track grant of the Israel Innovation Authority is to reduce risk for private investors and support companies in conducting breakthrough R&D (Research and Development) that will provide them with a global competitive advantage.

Support for Israeli high-tech companies in early growth stages, just before their major breakthrough into the international market.

The Israel Innovation Authority distributes approximately ₪2 billion in grants each year primarily to companies and corporations for the development of new products, establishment of manufacturing processes, execution of pilot programs to advance innovative technologies and products, international collaborations, academic partnerships, and more.

What Do You Get? (Key Funding Terms)

Significant Funding: A grant of 30% of the funding round, up to a ceiling of ₪15 million
Incentives for Target Populations and Periphery: Companies located in Development Zone A or led by entrepreneurs from underrepresented populations (women, Arab society, ultra-Orthodox) are eligible for an additional 10% up to ₪16.5 million
Non-Dilutive Model: The funding is provided as a grant in exchange for future royalty payments from revenues. The Israel Innovation Authority does not take equity or voting rights in the company
Fundraising Flexibility: Preliminary approval for the grant can be obtained even before signing with a private investor, helping to advance the fundraising round in the open market

Who Is It For? (Eligibility Criteria)

The track is intended for companies that meet the following criteria:

Previous Fundraising Experience: The company has raised up to ₪50 million since its establishment
Revenue Cap: The company’s revenues in the calendar year preceding the application did not exceed ₪30 million
Technological Innovation: Development of an R&D-based product with a high level of technological risk and strong potential for breakthrough in the international market

Technological Innovation: How unique, complex, and difficult to replicate is the solution?
Business Potential: What is the market size, and does the company have the ability to grow into a complete and sustainable company in Israel?
Team Capabilities: Professional experience, technological ability to execute the R&D, and business capability to raise capital
